Some early vinification stages for the Reds…

In the first stage the grapes, Syrah here, are tipped onto a sorting table and checked.

Then they are moved on for de-stemming.

Next, they fall onto a moving carpet and are sorted a second time, before being
gravity fed into the fermentation vat.

Four or five weeks later after regular circulation of the lees, the vat will be emptied
and the winewill be (almost …) ready !

Wednesday 18 September 2013, Our Trélans 2013 starts fermenting

Three photos to try to illustrate the fermentation of
Chenin and Vermentino grapes getting under way…

Attacking the whites !

Under the clear September sunshine in ideal cool weather,
we picked the Vermentino (top photo). Tomorrow, it’ll be the Chenin’s turn (lower photo) to enter the cellars…

Sunshine for the 2013 harvest…

After a short but intense rainy spell, the weather cheered up in the vineyard,
with cool nights and great days.

Picking started Wednesday 11th with the Merlot from Mas Garrigou which is destined for the 2013 Le Merle aux Alouettes !

The bunches are splendid and in outstanding condition …

Vinisud Asia Wine Fair 2013

The  first Vinisud  Asia salon has just taken place in Shanghai.
It will now take place every other year, alternating with the salon in Montpellier.

In that China has become my 2nd largest export client; it was a great opportunity to spend 3 days encouraging people to taste my Campredon, Esprit de Font Caude and Saut de Côte wines.

My exclusive importer EMW (East Meets West)  sent along the highly effective Vicky to handle translations.

A very smiling Nancy, Marketing Manager with EMW, came along to check all was going well: here’s her photo …

Organic Vintages 2013

The three days Salon Millésime Bio 2013 (2013 salon for organic vintages), which has just taken place in Montpellier, proved a great success, definitely encouraging us to continue on the road to excellence …

It was also a great opportunity to meet old and new clients…

In this photograph, taken in the splendid, gastronomic restaurant Cellier Morel, we greatly enjoyed dinner with Mr Yang Soo Jang, our importer in South Korea.

On the menu : Les Boissières 2000, L'Esprit de Font Caude 2005 and Saut de Côte 2009

Snow on Languedoc vineyards

It just took a few centimetres of snow
to transform the land we know so well into something fascinating

 Truly a winter wonderland …

This was in Lagamas last week, in our Carignan vineyard.

Times change …

Last week, I showed you our olive trees, covered in fruit, apparently nestling in spring sunshine …
And now, see for yourselves …
The bleak midwinter has arrived; for how long ? We’ll see.

The land of the olive …

The olives enjoying their last few hours in the Lagamas sunshine.

Soon they’ll be hand-picked, then gently pressed and transformed into luscious oil …

A bit of a dream to welcome in 2013

A sight for sore eyes, may your spirit float free …

All the best for 2013

May 2013 bring you health, wealth and happiness …

Here at the Domaine, we believe future vintages will inherit the ancestral qualities of these centennial trees !

The first is a green oak protecting the vinification cave, the second a giant olive living between Montpeyroux and St Jean de Fos.
